(Al-Hashr) 59 : 7

Whatever Allah has turned over from the residents of the lands, it is for Allah, His Messenger, his kin, the orphans, the indigent, and the wayfarers—so that wealth may not merely circulate among the rich among you. Whatever the Messenger gives you, take it; and whatever he forbids you, abstain from it. And fear Allah—indeed, Allah is severe in punishment.

As explained in verse 8:41, one-fifth of the war booty is allocated to Allah, His Messenger, his kin, orphans, the indigent, and wayfarers. However, the booty obtained by the Messenger and the believers without engaging in battle is to be distributed among the Messenger’s kin, orphans, the poor, and wayfarers. Through this, provisions are made for the needy, the sick, and the destitute.

Since today Adhikr—which explains everything as mentioned in 16:89 and serves as the Best Interpretation of the Lord’s Book as stated in 25:55—has been codified as a Book, and there is no group of believers anywhere in the world, the odd believer should follow the mode of prayer and lifestyle as described in verses 7:205-206. See explanations of 4:3, 4:10, 4:157-158, and 9:5, 9:123.
